Thank you to everyone who submitted funding requests in our winter cycle, which closed January 5, 2022. We are currently organizing application intake and will provide an update to those who applied in the coming month!
Approved recipients can expect to receive funds within a month of the application cycle closing. We will notify you directly if your application is selected through the lottery process.
We process requests fund requests on a bi-annual basis for arts workers or prospective arts workers who are Black, Indigenous, undocumented, trans, disabled, and/or queer. We appreciate that identity and lived experience are personal and irreducible. We operate from a space of trust and mutual accountability, and please consider this when applying. All requests are based on needs that we hope to help meet.
Due to high demand and our fundraising limits, we are distributing $250 microgrants at this time. We cannot guarantee that every applicant will receive funds. We encourage everyone to (re)apply in future cycles but ask that you only apply once per cycle.
See our FAQ page to learn about our new lottery distribution for this winter 2021-2022 cycle.

Free Skill and Information Sharing Network! Please utilize our open contact list of generous skill-sharers to get in touch with workers in the field offering non-financial resources, such as resume feedback, graphic design, copy editing, and more, while we pause our efforts to grow AFAN’s skill-sharing network.
Additional contacts are available by completing the above request form. Please don’t be shy about reaching out with any questions–and please sign up if you would like to share resources as well as receive!
